Bats Are Not Flying Rats!

We like learning about the benefits of bats! 

Did you know there are over 1,000 different bat species? 

Did you know there are two types of bats: mega bats and micro bats? 

Did you know that mega bats drink nectar or eat fruit? 

Did you know micro bats eat a TON of mosquitoes, which makes our life better? 

Did you know that bats help pollinate our flowers? 

Growing Brassica Plants in Science

Our seeds have grown from a seedling to a sprout to a plant. 

We know that plants need: water, space, nutrients, and a light source. We are using a growing light for our light source.

We like to observe them. When we do our observations, we add an entry into our Learning Logs. 

We take measurements to see how much they have grown in centimeter (cm). We also count and draw all the leaves we see. And today, we add the flowers to our drawings. Last, we count how many days they have grown by using our calendar that we glued into our logs. 

We like to observe with magnifying glasses. 

Science just makes us smile! 

Jogathon

Our Jonathan fund raiser pays for the buses for our grade level field trips. 

We sure have a LOT of fun with this activity. 

Plus, we exercise for 45 minutes!

Fun and exercise and raise money? What could be better? 

These two had the most laps for the girls and the boys! They should be proud! 

The Colors of Us

We all come in gorgeous colors, don't we? 

And we wear splendid cultural outfits. 

Curriculum Night

We had a classroom scavenger hunt with our parents.

We completed a math page. 

We looked at our book boxes. 

We shared RazKids on the laptops.

We also shared our Writing Spirals and My Weekend News.

I hope you remembered to tell your adult, "Thank you for coming."

Show Respect

True Grit

Act Safely: Free from danger, injury, risk, harm or loss. Acting in a way where people are away from danger and won't get hurt. Looking ahead to make sure the environment is safe for you and others.

Show Respect: Respect is an attitude of caring about people and treating them with dignity. Respect is valuing ourselves and others. When we are respectful, we treat others as we want to be treated. Respect for property includes doing no harm and leaving it in the same condition as you found it.

Be Responsible: Being responsible means that others can depend on you. You are willing to be accountable for your actions. When things go wrong and you make a mistake, you make amends instead of excuses. When you are responsible, you keep your agreements. You give your best to any job.

True Grit: Having true grit means showing improvement or having staying power, which is known as perseverance. When we have true grit, we stick with a problem until it is resolved, we keep working until we learn, show growth or get better at something.
